- Minutes of APCM held on 6 April 2022: Unanimously agreed and signed by the Rector.
- Matters arising from the minutes: None.
- Church Electoral Roll: As of 31st December 2022 – 125. Richard encouraged those who attend church to add their names to the Electoral Roll.
- Church Council Elections:
a. Churchwardens: Richard thanked Judy, John, Michael and Barbara for their hard work and commitment. Judy, John, and Michael have all offered to stand next year as Churchwardens and were duly elected. Richard thanked Barbara for all she had done whilst Churchwarden based at St Saviour’s. Judy advised that she would be retiring at the APCM in 2024. Richard encouraged anyone interested to come and discuss the role and find out what it entails.
b. Parochial Church Council Members: Becky Priest, Graham Perkins and Gwen Shaw were thanked for their time and commitment over the past three years. Diane Perks, Barbara Albert, Rebecca Priest, Robert Jones, and Wendy Jones were elected to the PCC for 3 years and Gill Richards and Kate Aldridge were elected to the PCC for 1 year.
c. Deanery Synod: John Gowar, Jenny Moulder and Sharon Bryant were elected to serve on the Deanery Synod for 3 years.
d. Sidespersons: The current Sidespersons at both churches were nominated, seconded, and elected en bloc to serve until the next APCM. The Churchwardens will look to invite other members of the congregation to join the rota.
- Church Council Secretary’s Report: Richard thanked Sue for the Secretary’s report which was included in the Group Reports.
- a. Treasurer’s report: Richard thanked Iain for his reports throughout the year, acknowledging the tremendous amount of hard work involved in preparing the accounts. Iain thanked the Finance team for all their work and support over the year. As there is a new auditor in place we expect to be able to submit the accounts on time in the future. There is a small loss in 2022, a similar position to 2021. The PCC continued to make larger contributions than its’ share towards the Parish Share for the Benefice in 2022.
b. Acceptance of Accounts: The 2022 accounts are currently being independently examined. As they were not ready for this meeting it was agreed that the Finance Committee would approve them. This was unanimously agreed.
c. Appointment of Auditor: It was agreed that we would continue with the same Auditor – Wyatt and Co
- Presentation of Group Reports: Richard referred to all involved in the preparation of the reports. A copy of all reports received is attached. Hard copies have been available at both churches, on the website and also emailed to those on the Parish Office mailing list.
- Chairman’s Report: Richard read his report which will also be printed in Contact when space is available.
- Election Results: None were necessary.
- Any Other Business: It was noted that it had been a lovely service in the morning, with Churchwardens welcoming everyone and encouraging them to stay for coffee afterwards.
The meeting closed with The Grace.
